Homes with ADU · Florida
Florida has no statewide ADU law, and most local zoning restricts what would be called an ADU elsewhere. Where you do find a home with a permitted second unit — Tampa, parts of Miami-Dade, older Jacksonville neighborhoods — it's usually labeled an 'in-law suite' or 'mother-in-law apartment'. The market values these at a 10–18% premium, but the legal status varies wildly between municipalities. Verify with the local zoning department before assuming you can rent it out.
